It scores a very impressive 4.6/5 on Google reviews or 4/5 on TripAdvisor. The site is on a hill, so lots of the caravans have a sea view.
SUN HAVEN VALLEY HOLIDAY PARK CORNWALL UPGRADE
The cheaper accommodation are the 'value caravans' and 'value chalets' or you can upgrade to 'superior' or 'luxury' models. They've also got some houses for larger groups and a camping/touring section. Most of the accommodation is caravans or chalets. There's an entertainment program which runs in the summer months with kids' activities and a playground for the rest of the year. Other onsite facilities include a bistro and a bar with a terrace overlooking the sea. If it's raining, the indoor pool is a good size - although it is a straightforward sort of pool rather than one with flumes and slides. If the weather is good you can sign up for surfing lessons at the park's surf school. The beach is mostly used by the adjacent holiday parks so you won't be fighting for space. It sits just along from Haven's Riviere Sands Holiday Park, with easy access to a three mile long sandy beach. St Ives Bay Holiday Park has one of the best locations you'll find in Cornwall. Top tip: arrive on a Friday instead of a Saturday for the best price at a Haven caravan park. Price: The cheapest week we could find in August 2022 for a family of 4 in a standard caravan was £1608 at Perran Sands Holiday Park or £1297 at Riviere Sands Holiday Park.

Riviere Sands doesn't allow pets which will be a deal-breaker for some people. It’s also marginally closer to the Eden Project at St Austell, but then Riviere Sands is much closer to Lands End. Personally, I’d favour Perran Sands based on location but Riviere Sands tends to be cheaper. Perran Sands is slightly less remote (Perranporth) and is better placed for visiting Newquay’s attractions ( Newquay Zoo, Blue Reef Aquarium and Pirates Quest etc). They are both busy, family friendly holiday parks with plenty to do, so I would make a decision based on price and location. Perran Sands has a sports court and adventure golf, but Riviere Sands has crazy golf.

Perran Sands and Riviere Sands both offer indoor and outdoor pools (I’d opt for an indoor pool personally…), evening entertainment, surf and paddleboard lessons and places to eat on site. They’re both right by lovely beaches and they have similar facilities onsite. They get similar reviews, with both scoring 4 out of 5 on Trip Advisor and 4.4/5 on Google reviews. In my view, there’s not a lot between the two Haven holiday parks in Cornwall – Perran Sands and Riviere Sands.
